Why do I need a front cover image for a print book?

The reason why we encourage you to submit the front cover is for two reasons. First we use that cover for marketing purposes, such as press releases which are free when you distribute the book. Example: https://www.prbuzz.com/books-publishing-literature/328509-straw-bale-gardening-for-beginners-speedy-publishings-new-crafts-hobbies-home-book-published.html

Next we have realized that over time some retailers will load the Metadata then load the front cover days or even weeks after. This means your book cover appears weeks after. By providing the cover this helps to speed up the process. Also the process of front cover creation is done using software which can cut off parts of your cover - by providing one we avoid these issues.
